Despite a wet, snowy start to the season, the next trial scheduled for August 1st is shaping up to be a perfect weekend.  Lovely location with plenty of viewing areas for spectators, beautiful camping sites and FREE BBQ to finish off a great day of competition.  Look forward to seeing you all out there.

You can Pre-Register for the event.  Click on EVENTS at top of page.

Thank you to Steve Doel, Stephen Foord and family, Siggi & Lexi for demonstrating trials and promoting the club and Offroad Motorcycle Training Institute this past weekend at the Ponoka Stampede grounds.  The SGMC was invited by the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group to entertain their 14th annual vintage motorcycle rally.  It was great to return the favour after all the years the CVMG has volunteered their time for our club as corner workers at the ice races!

    Fun, fun fun!

With lots of hard work from Rob and Jenny, they have secured us another parcel of land for a Trials on Sunday, June 6th.  This trial is minutes from downtown Moose Jaw.  Directions are soon to follow.  Our insurance and sanction have been applied for.

The format will be the same as our first round:

Sign-In openning up at 9:30 am.

Youth Trial at 10:00 am  ($7 rider entry fee, with CMA licence).

Full Trial begins at 11:00 am ($15 - club members, $21 - all other riders entry, with CMA licence).

    SFTA Membership - $20

Classes: Expert, Intermediate, Junior, Novice/ Vintage/ Trail bike, Youth

I don't fore see weather like we had for the Chute Trial, so bring your sun block this time.

Our sign-in volunteers, will need to see your CMA licence for entry.  If you have not applied yet, then please just apply at sign-in, as the turn around period for applications and licence arrival is about 3 weeks.  Unfortunately riders who are in limbo and are waiting on licences in the mail, will have to apply again at the event and  pay the required fees again.  The CMA will refund any rider who has had to apply twice in the same year.  Long story short, just bring your licence and everyone will be happy.

You will also notice that we have two different entry fee amounts listed.  At our last meeting we looked into the idea of club membership.  We are aware that our small Trials community is very appreciative and generous of all the effort that goes into running our club.  We decided that our board members would donate $20 each to assist the club finances.  We thought that maybe some of the riders who are not able to attend meetings might also like the opportunity to help the club.  The biggest advantage to joining the SFTA is the reduced entry fee for club members.  Of course riders who do not wish to be a member, will be able and welcome to ride with us, but with a slightly higher entry fee.  We hope everyone considers this option and joining our club for 2010.

Please feel free to post up here, or contact me at sasktrials@yahoo.ca if you have any questions or suggestions.

    See you all soon

    SFTA President

    Hi All

This is a link to the location of Round #2, of the 2010, Saskatchewan Trials Series.  The Site is only minutes East of Moose Jaw.  The site is visible from the Trans Canada HWY and should be good no matter how much rain we get.  The Exit you need to access the site, is PETROLIA ROAD.  It is exactly 1.2 Km's East of the Manitoba Expressway on Ramp in Moose Jaw, when arriving from the West.  Coming from the East it is the last exit before the Manitoba Expressway.

Please access our Webpage for remaining information regarding the Trials.  If coming from out of town, or not a regularly participant in our series, please contact myself and I will do my best to help you out, or give you any added directions you may need.

    See you Sunday, June 6th.

    SFTA President,
    Derek Thomas

Yes, anyone can help setting up trials sections as long as we have an experienced individual to guide us.  It's a lot of fun and would be greatly appreciated.

Send me an email if you are interested at info@secondgearclub.com

We had a great turnout of 13 riders for our first for-fun mini trial at Blackfoot.  Big thank you to Heather & Siggi for putting the sections together.  Everyone really enjoyed the sections.  Most stayed for a hotdog and visit and we look forward to having you and more show up June 9th for the next one.

I appologize for not arranging at the gate for the reduced trials gate fee....will be in place for June 9th.

How's this for a great idea; For-Fun Mini Series trials competition 2nd Wednesday of each Month starting May 12th at the Blackfoot Park trials area.  Sections will be setup.  $10 to cover costs of ribbon and such.  Reduced gate fee of only $5.  No trophies but a BBQ after.  Start time at 6:30-7:00ish and see if we can get a couple loops in.

This is a great opportunity for all levels of riders.  Super for those that need practice to compete in Canada's national rounds AND a great chance for new riders to see what observed trials is all about.  Remember the club owns a 2003 GASGAS for those that don't have a bike and want to give it a try.

Thanks to Heather for the idea and due to the cancellation of the Apr.25th trial, the sections are still setup and we will use for the first miniseries event May 12th.  So if you're down there riding before-hand, please try not to tear down the ribbon.

    See you all May 12th!!!
