On November 15 and 16,
2005, huge wind storms went through McLean Creek snapping and
uprooting massive numbers of large trees. In talking to a few
cross country pro’s attempting to ride single track trails after
the wind storms, they have confirmed that many of the single
track trails are completely impassable, with piles of huge trees
stacked upon themselves. We are organizing two single track
clean up days on Saturday, May 26, 2007 and Saturday, June 2,
2007. If you ride single track trails at McLean Creek you need
to attend these clean up days. Clean up is going to be by
chainsaw only, so we need as many riders as possible that can
pack a chainsaw with them on their bike or in a backpack.
Ideally, we would like to do groups of three riders, two with
chainsaws, and one rider on a 2-stroke in each group. If you can
put together your own group, that is great; if not, we will
organize groups out there, and assign certain groups to certain
trails. Please spread the word to anyone you know of that rides
at McLean Creek. Thanks in advance for your help in reclaiming
our awesome trails! |
